Wild Rose Ridge Novellas

Contemporary

She wants to plant roots.

His roots go deep.

Will loving him cost her the only place she’s wanted to call home?

Growing up a missionary kid, Fiona Jones never belonged anywhere. Until now. Here in Wild Rose Ridge, she runs the local tea and bookstore and hosts a popular local podcast. Also, as the only contender, she’s a shoo-in for the empty seat on town council. Even better, her girlhood crush,  Chase, is back in town.

The son of one of the town’s founding families, Dr. Chase Coleman has always belonged in Wild Rose Ridge. Now, he’s home from medical school, ready to join the town’s medical practice and help his family’s struggling vineyard. Eager to get to know Fiona, he enlists her help in finding important family documents that could help Rose Cove Vineyards survive.

But, when Fiona unwittingly leaks their findings to the town, she risks not only ruining their fledgling relationship, but also tearing her beloved community of Wild Rose Ridge in two.

He’s betrayed her before.

She’d be a fool to trust him again.

And Ivy Weaver is nobody’s fool.

Beloved town baker, Ivy Weaver, is capable of so much more than frying up a mean apple fritter and now’s the time to prove it. Winning Wild Rose Ridge’s annual Diced competition would show the town her chef skills and help get her fledgling catering business off the ground. But when her biggest competitor from culinary school enters the contest, her dreams seem destined to die. Again.

Holland K. McIntyre IV may have been born into privilege, but he’s fought and clawed his way to success in the restaurant business on his own. Nothing is going to keep him from his goals. If beating Ivy in another cooking competition is what it takes to make a name for himself, then that’s what he’ll do.

But when the two of them are forced to be teammates rather than competitors, they just might face their biggest challenge yet. Will trusting Holland keep Ivy from realizing her dreams once again?

Historical

A mission-minded spinster

A skeptical miner

And a marriage plan gone awry

After eight long years of caring for her aging parents, Elizabeth Ann Pruitt is ready for something new. An ad for a mail-order bride from an itinerant preacher/missionary in the wilds of Washington Territory seems like just the answer. But when she arrives in Wild Rose Ridge, nothing goes as planned. Her groom-to-be is in a coma, and she’s back to the role of caregiver before she’s ever been a bride. Worse, her groom’s annoying older brother makes no secret of the fact he doesn’t think she belongs here.

As far as Solomon Rutledge is concerned, his brother sending off for a bride was about the stupidest thing he’s ever done. And he’s done plenty of stupid things. His brother’s new fiancée is beautiful and cultured and not at all suited to life in their one-room cabin in the woods. She needs to go back home to Connecticut on the next steamboat out.

But when a saloon girl from the north country arrives in town with a shocking revelation, he’s determined to get to the bottom of all the mystery surrounding his brother and his attackers. He sets off for the northern lumber camps and mines in search of answers, unaware that Elizabeth Ann is tagging along, determined to prove to him she can make it in his brother’s world or die trying.

Wild Rose Ridge Multi-Author Project

In 2023, I joined with a group of writer friends to create a multi-author series set in the fictional town of Wild Rose Ridge. Together, we created a small lake town in central Washington state and filled it with all sorts of quirky characters and plenty of romance. Since then, we’ve created 31 books altogether, both contemporary and historical. You can find all these books on Amazon. Check them out!
